National Weather Service issues Winter Weather Advisory

National Weather Service-Missoula has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Northern and Southern Clearwater Mountains 5 p.m. Saturday through 11 a.m. Monday above 5,500 feet.

Snow is expected above 5,500 feet. There is a likelihood of moderate to isolated major winter weather impacts. Total snow accumulations of up to 4 inches, except 5 to 10 inches in the higher terrain are forecast.

Areas of particular impact include Dixie, Lolo Pass and higher elevations of the Clearwater and Bitterroot Mountains.

For moderate winter weather impacts, expect disruptions to normal activities and hazardous traveling conditions. Use extra caution while driving.
