Clearwater Power making progress restoring power to areas impacted by wind storm Clearwater Power continues to make progress restoring power to areas impacted by the wind storm Dec. 17. These released this info on the Facebook page Dec. 24 at 10 a.m.: "Power has been restored to more than 10,500 Clearwater Power members. A week into the extended outage, approximately 300 members remain without power. (Editor's note: by midnight Dec. 24, there were 157 customers affected by the outage, according to their map page.) "The outage was caused when 80+ mile-per-hour wind caused significant damage to critical infrastructure on Wednesday morning, Dec. 17. "Added contracted and cooperative line crews, along with additional contracted vegetation management crews, continue working alongside our cooperative-employed linemen. "As work and repairs continue across the service territory to restore power, linemen, field engineers and vegetation management crews are working in the following locations today (Wednesday, Dec. 24):
"We anticipate power being restored to another 250 members by nightfall. We know members need power and we will continue working until power is fully restored. "Clearwater Power serves 3 to 4 members per mile of power line along more than 3,000 miles of lines and other infrastructure webbing out across the most rural parts of our counties. Your cooperative extends into 11 counties across 3 states, covering more than 5,000 square miles. "The Clearwater Power Outage Map reflects the most up-to-date outage information. While the Outage Map offers the best estimates for power restoration, they are estimates and are adjusted as we continue to patrol lines, assess damage and make needed repairs. Specific times for power restoration will depend on the repairs needed between Clearwater Power substations and individual meter locations. In some instances, members may also need to schedule licensed electricians to repair member-owned equipment before meters can be safely energized. Clearwater Power members can report outages using SmartHub or by calling 208-743-1501. Please always call 208-743-1501 with safety concerns. We take calls 24/7 and it ensures your message is received and escalated as needed. Stay Safe:
