Clearwater Power updates their power outage info

Clearwater Power updated their outage information for members at 7 a.m. Sunday with the info below.

"Power has been restored to 8,000+ members. 2,800 members currently remain without power and have been without power since early morning on Tuesday, Dec. 16. We understand the importance of power in our lives and appreciate the patience of Clearwater Power members.

"The storm that hit our region brought 80+ mile-per-hour wind gusts, toppling trees, breaking cross arms and poles, and bringing down miles of line. Significant damage to equipment, substations and every main distribution line was sustained, impacting our entire grid, all at once.

"Clearwater Power serves 3 to 4 members per mile of power line along more than 3,000 miles of lines and other infrastructure webbing out across the most rural parts of our counties. Your cooperative extends into 11 counties across 3 states covering 5,000 square miles.

Linemen, field engineers and vegetation management crews are working in the following locations Sunday:

  • Crews continue working north from the Juliaetta substation on lines feeding Lenore, Myrtle and nearby areas
  • Dent
  • Orofino Golf Course toward Nezperce
  • Crows Bench and Upper Fords Creek
  • Freeman Creek
  • Weippe area
  • Flannigan Creek, Tensed
  • Emida
