Orofino woman injured in car vs pedestrian accident

An Orofino woman was injured Tuesday evening in a car vs pedestrian accident at 330 Michigan Ave., according to Orofino Police Department.

At about 5:54 p.m., OPD responded along with Orofino Fire Rescue, Clearwater County Sheriff's Office and Clearwater County Ambulance to the scene.

A 71-year-old female from Orofino traveling south bound in a 2009 Nissan Murano struck a 73-year-old female from Orofino who was crossing Michigan Ave. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital by Clearwater County Ambulance, OPD reported.

Due to the injuries of the pedestrian, Idaho State Police responded at the request of OPD to assist in the investigation. At this time, the incident remains under investigation by ISP.
