Montana man arrested after fleeing scene of accident on Michigan at bridge

A Montana man was arrested Thursday after fleeing the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Michigan Ave. and U.S. Highway 12 at the bridge over the Clearwater River, according to Orofino Police Department.

About 1:31 p.m. Thursday, Orofino Police Department responded to the scene and upon arrival, there was one vehicle, a 1989 Toyota pickup driven by Cody Kindred, 28, Orofino. It was stated that the vehicle that left the scene was a 1990's model Dodge, green in color and driven by a male subject and had significant damage to the front passenger side. The vehicle was later located and the driver was identified as Ronald C. Baker, 81, of Troy, Mont, OPD reported.

Baker was subsequently arrested for Idaho Code 18-8007 - Leaving the Scene of Accident Resulting in Injury, a felony, and cited for Idaho Code 49-1305 - Failure to Notify of Accident, a misdemeanor. He is housed in the Clearwater County Jail.
