Two injured in vehicle vs pedestrian accident

Two people were injured in a vehicle vs pedestrians accident Wednesday night around 6:11, according to Idaho State Police.

ISP is currently investigating the accident that occurred on Michigan Ave. and North A St. in Orofino involving one vehicle and two pedestrians. A witness to the incident immediately called 911. The pedestrians, a 76-year-old male and 75-year-old female were transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital by ground ambulance. The driver was a 46-year-old female.

Traffic was completely blocked off on Michigan Ave. from North A St. to Johnson Ave. for several hours during the investigation.

The Idaho State Police would like to remind drivers to be extra careful when driving through areas with heavy foot traffic, and pay attention at all times.

Orofino Police Department, Clearwater County Sheriff's Department, Orofino Fire Rescue and Clearwater County Ambulance Service all assisted with the incident.
