Juliaetta man injured in UTV crash near Elk River early Monday

The Idaho State Police is investigated a single-vehicle injury crash that occurred on Monday May 27 at about 1 a.m., on State Highway 8, seven miles west of Elk River.

ISP reported that a 2020 Polaris General UTV (utility-terrain-vehicle) driven by a 26-year-old male from Lewiston, was traveling westbound on Highway 8 near milepost 46 when the vehicle struck a deer. The driver lost control and the vehicle overturned. In the UTV, in addition to the driver, was a 55-year-old man from Juliaetta. The passenger was transported to the hospital via air ambulance.

According to ISP evidence was found on scene to indicate that drugs and/or alcohol may have been involved in this crash. This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
