Safety Advisory: Extreme caution urged on roads reopened in the Gwen Fire Zone CENTRAL IDAHO - With roads reopening in the Gwen Fire area after evacuations, the Idaho State Police (ISP) urges all travelers and residents to use extreme caution. The area contains active fires, which are a constant and significant threat and present numerous hazards. Based on shifting weather patterns, fire conditions may change rapidly, and road openings are continuously re-evaluated for safety purposes. ISP troopers are aggressively working to slow traffic in the affected area. The Idaho Transportation Department recommends a speed limit of 45 miles per hour, but drivers continue to travel too fast for the conditions.
