Lewiston woman killed; Orofino man seriously injured in motorcycle accident A Lewiston woman killed and an Orofino man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday near 14th Ave. and 14th St. in Lewiston, according to Lewiston Police Department. About 1:20 p.m., Lewiston Police and Lewiston Fire were dispatched to the scene for a report of a motorcycle crash. The report was there were two people injured. Initial investigation shows a 2018 Yamaha motorcycle operated by James Weese, 25, Orofino, carrying Alyssa Slusher, 24, Lewiston, was northbound on 14th St. Control of the motorcycle was lost and it struck a parked car on the east side of 14th St. Weese and Slusher were thrown from the motorcycle. Both were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center by ambulance, reported LPD. Slusher succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Weese was transported to Spokane, WA, by Life Flight due to his injuries, a press release added. 14th St. was closed for about 3 1/2 hours during the investigation. Weese and Slusher were both wearing helmets, LPD said. The collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact Sgt. Craig Roberts or Ofc.
