County Commissioners approve Disaster Declaration for Hospital Fire During their regular session Sept. 5, Clearwater County Commissioners approved and signed the Disaster Declaration Resolution No. 23-8-20 on Aug. 29, a disaster emergency within Clearwater County resulting from wildfires that started behind Idaho State Hospital North and the Idaho State Prison in Clearwater County. Evacuations were in place. Road and Bridge Supervisor Rudy Knapik reported on road crew work and presented Resolution No. 23-9-19 for surplus on grader bits. It was approved. He presented Agreements for Local Highway Technical Assistance County (LHTAC) for Project Key No. 22877 (Crow Bench) and State/Local Agreement (Construction) Key No. 22877. The project will install LED flashing signs and guardrail. They were approve and signed. Election Deputy Savannah Bertholf from the Auditor/Recorder's Office and Sheri Busta from the Court Clerk's Office presented the Official Canvass of Ballots from the Aug. 29 Election. The results were reviewed, approve and signed. The Fiscal Year 2024 Indigent Defense Financial Assistance Agreement was signed. There were two executive sessions held to discuss personnel and contract services that are exempt from disclosure. Present were Chairman Vince Frazier and Commissioners Mike Ryan and Richard Miller.
