Elk River woman dies, man has life-threatening injuries in side-by-side accident

A woman died and a man received life-threatening injuries in a side-by-side accident Saturday near Elk River, according to Clearwater County Sheriff's Office.

On Saturday at about 4:42 p.m. Clearwater County Deputies, Elk River Ambulance and Life Flight were dispatched to Upper Basin Rd. near Elk River for a report of a single-vehicle rollover accident involving a side-by-side.

Trisha Tachell, 54, and a passenger Scott Kramm, 53, both of Elk River, were riding in the vehicle. Kramm was ejected from the side-by-side and had life-threatening injuries. He was flown by Life Flight to Kootenai Medical Center. Tachell was deceased at the scene, CCSO reported.

The accident is still under investigation, CCSO said.
