NWS-Missoula has a high confidence of excessive heat through Sunday

National Weather Service-Missoula has a high confidence of excessive heat from Friday through Sunday.

The ridge of high pressure continues to build over the region. Temperatures have already been hot for the past several days, but temperatures are anticipated to be even hotter this weekend. Maximum temperatures in the lower valleys of Idaho and Clearwater county will range 105-115 degrees, which will be near record readings.

Minimum temperatures each night will be a little warmer, minimizing relief from this excessive heat. The hottest day appears to be on Sunday, but the models are hinting that the heat could last into Monday.
