Lewis County Sheriff's Office investigating shooting that left three dead

Lewis County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left three people dead at a motel on the 1000 block of 3rd Street in Kamiah, according to Lewis County Sheriff Jason Davis.

Lewis County deputies responded to the motel at approximately 5 p.m. Monday, July 19, after a call of shots fired. At this time, the incident is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide. It appears all individuals involved were acquainted with each other, Davis said.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office is working with detectives from the Idaho State Police. As the investigation remains ongoing, no further information is available at this time. Identities of those involved will be released following notification of family and as the investigation allows, Davis added.

Investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat connected with this incident. The cooperation of the community is greatly appreciated, he concluded.
