Clearwater County Commissioners declare disaster due to wildland fires

Wednesday, July 14, the Clearwater County Commissioners declared a disaster due to the wildland fires in the county and surrounding areas.

These fires have consumed air resources used for daily emergency response and no air resources are available to support any new calls for response. Currently our Back County Medics have no air resource to respond with.

The Back County Medics support Clearwater and surrounding counties for medical and search and rescue response. With the high volume of firefighters in remote areas the Back County Medics could be needed. Response by ambulance can take hours to reach many areas. The request will be for air resources.
