Clearwater County loses two more residents to COVID-19

During the last week, Clearwater County has lost two more residents to the COVID-19 virus; both were men, one in their 70s and one in their 80s.

The man in his 70s had his case confirmed on Dec. 21, 2020 and his death recorded on the Public Health-Idaho North Central District (PH-INCD) website Jan. 25 and the other was confirmed Jan. 4 and his death recorded on the website Jan. 28.

There was a bright spot however; both Brookside Landing and Clearwater Health and Rehab of Concordia were moved to the category of "Facilities with Resolved Outbreaks" on the webpage that accounts for numbers at long term care facilities. Prior to resolving their outbreaks, Clearwater Health and Rehab had 39 cases of COVID-19 and 3 deaths, Brookside Landing had 32 cases and 1 death among residents and staff.

Clearwater County had an additional 2 cases of confirmed and recorded online Monday, both females in the 12-17 years of age group. That brings the total confirmed and probable cases to 931. PH-INCD says that 797 of those have recovered, 122 are open and 12 people have died.

PH-INCD has now had 8,266 cases of COVID-19 either confirmed or probable. More than 5,800 of those cases have been from either Nez Perce or Latah counties.
