COVID case numbers down from previous period by Nancy C. Butler COVID-19 case numbers are down during the last few weeks, Oct. 4-15, compared to the previous period, Sept. 15 to Oct. 1 in both Clearwater County and Public Health District 2 (Clearwater, Lewis, Idaho, Latah and Nez Perce counties). Public Health-Idaho North Central District (District 2) only reports statistics on business days, so this report for Clearwater County is from Monday, Oct. 4, to Friday, Oct. 15. There were a total of 31 cases, 16 male and 15 female, with no deaths. The previous time period, Sept. 15 to Oct. 1 had 73 cases with 38 male and 35 female with one death. By age group the statistics read:
Clearwater County's vaccination rate is now at 41.34%, which accounts for residents 12 years old and older that have had at least one dose of a vaccine. In Public Health District 2 from Oct. 4 to Oct. 15, there were 648 cases, 339 male and 309 female, compared to 1,093 from Sept. 15 to Oct. 1. There were 6 deaths from Sept. 15 to Oct. 1 and 4 from Oct. 4-15. Vaccination rate in the district is 48.04% Here are the district numbers by age group from Oct. 4-15:
