School Board meets in special session to discuss COVID-19 safety plans

Joint School District #171's trustees held a special session Monday to update information and vote on procedures concerning COVID-19.

In one motion, they approved Orofino Junior Senior High School being virtual this week. No activities will take place as well.

Orofino Elementary School is in yellow this week which means masking students and staff.

In the next motion, it was decided that all district staff are required to wear masks where social distancing cannot be maintained.

In the third motion, OJSHS and OES will be in 'yellow' phase the week of Oct. 12, which means masking for all students and staff.

All the decisions/motions will be reviewed at the trustees' Oct. 19 meeting which is their next regular meeting.
