COVID-19 cases in North Central Idaho up 29.44 percent in the last week

COVID-19 cases in Public Health-Idaho North Central District (District 2) have shot up 29.44 percent in the week from Aug. 14 and Aug. 21.

Numbers went from 360 to 466, an added 106. During the same time period, Clearwater County numbers rose by 3 to 20. Lewis County increased by 2 from 4 to 6, Idaho County went from 33 to 38 with 5 more. Nez Perce and Latah counties had major increases with 53 and 43 respectively. Nez Perce County now has 225 and Latah 177.

As of Aug. 21, in this District 2, the largest number of cases are those who are in their 20s with 119, those in their 40s have 56, 30s have 55, 10-19 have 54, 50s have 53, 60s with 35, 70s with 32, 80s 28, 0-9 with 22, 90s with 11 and 100s with 1. District 2 is listing 244 open cases, 203 recovered and 19 deaths.

Idaho has 29,662 cases as of Aug. 22 (293 new Saturday) Statistics are showing what is pretty much also the case in North Central Idaho, the largest number of cases are in the 18-29 age group with 8,748, second is the 30-39 age group with 5,132, the 40-49 age group is next with 4,517, the 50-59 age group has 3,727, that is followed by the under 18 group with 2,719. The over 60 groups drop off quickly with 60-69 at 2,403, 70-79 with 1,418, 80-89 at 779 and 90-99 at 263. 12,606 cases are estimated as recovered and 2,138 are asymptomatic cases.

The average age of Idahoans with COVID-19 is 39.2 and ranges from 1-102 years of age. The data excluded 43 persons with unknown ages. 14,973 or 50.9 percent are female and 14,436 or 49.1 percent are male. There have been 306 deaths, 277 confirmed and 29 probable. That is a rate of 17.1 per 100,000 population.
