Orofino's Christmas Festival will be different this year, but the lights will sparkle

Orofino's Christmas Festival is different this year with COVID-19 protocols being back in Stage 2, but the city park will still sparkle welcoming in the season.

Though there will be no lighting ceremony, the park and the community tree in Cannon Park will be lit up. The parade is cancelled as well, but these are the plans for this year:

  • Lighting of the Orofino City Park - The Lighting Committee in conjunction with the Orofino Chamber of Commerce will be working hard to light up the Orofino City Park! They are working to make this year bigger and brighter than ever. Those who would like to make a donation of money or lights, please contact Jordyn Howell, Chamber Director, at 208-476-4335.
  • Decorated Store Fronts - Orofino businesses get involved, show the holiday's best! What better year than this one to spread some extra holiday cheer and go all out with window/store front decorations?! The Chamber will be selecting a winner who will be rewarded for their hard work with a fabulous trophy! Please let the Chamber know to be entered in the contest.
  • Wine/Booze Tree Auction - The Chamber will auction sections of a boozy and beautiful "tree". The tree will be displayed at Banner Bank and the auction will be held through Facebook so that all participants can safely socially distance. Those who would like to make a donation to the wine tree, can drop them off to Howell at the Chamber office. The online auction will be held Monday, Dec. 21.
