Orofino Police Department arrests woman, searches house

An Orofino woman was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Clearwater County Jail after law enforcement responded to a house at 645 Riverside Ave. on a domestic dispute call, according to Orofino Police Chief Jeff Wilson.

At approximately 7:26 a.m. the OPD, assisted by the Clearwater County Sheriff's Department, responded to the residence. Stephanie C. Seldon, 35, of Orofino was arrested on a charge of Domestic Battery in the Presence of a Child (Misdemeanor), Wilson said.

Following the arrest, the residence was secured by OPD and a search warrant was sought. The search warrant was later issued authorizing a search for methamphetamine and other related items. The search warrant was served on the residence at 11:32 a.m. and several items of evidence were seized. Seldon, who was still being held in the Clearwater County Jail, was subsequently charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony), according to Wilson.

The case is still under investigation.
