NWS-Missoula issues Winter Weather Advisory for Clearwater County National Weather Service-Missoula has issued Winter Weather Advisory for Clearwater County and a Winter Storm Warning for areas to the south and east, from 4 p.m. Saturday to 1 p.m. Sunday. In Clearwater County's upper elevations, two to five inches of snow is expected. Areas of particular impact are Elk River, Pierce and Idaho Highway 11 Pierce to Headquarters. Pierce, elevation 3,085 feet Saturday night, rain is expected and could be heavy at times. The snow level is 4,500 feet lowering to 3,700 feet. Sunday snow showers are expected with new accumulation of one to three inches possible. There is a 50 percent chance of snow Sunday night and new accumulation of less than one inch is possible. Lower elevations In lower elevations snow accumulations of one to three inches are expected. Wind is forecast to gust as high as 45 miles per hour on the Camas Prairie in Idaho County. Areas of particular impact include Greer Grade, Camas Prairie, Grangeville and vicinity, U.S. Highway 95 from Slate Creek to Riggins and White Bird Grade. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility across the Camas Prairie and White Bird Grade. Orofino, elevation 1,040 feet Rain is forecast for Orofino Saturday night with the chance of precipitation at 90 percent. Rain showers are also expected Sunday before 4 p.m., then there is a chance of rain and snow showers. Little or no snow accumulation is expected. Sunday night, there is a chance of rain and snow before 10 p.m. Little or no snow accumulation is forecast. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
