Orofino's Odd Fellows and Rebekahs were founded in 1905 and they recently listed their historic building on the Register of Historic Buildings. Over the years, the building has housed a number of different things including a jail, library and retail shops.

People best remember the chicken dinners, dances and other activities held at the IOOF Hall on the corner of Johnson and 1st. They have had coat drives and other events to benefit the community. Odd Fellows and Rebekahs also sponsors a contest that sends young people to Washington, DC each year to learn more about government and the history of the country.

To learn more about the history of the Odd Fellows and the Rebekahs in Orofino, join the Clearwater Historical Society for a presentation Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Clearwater Historical Museum. Jean White and other members of the organizations will be the presenters. The public is welcome and refreshments will be served.
