  • Justin Haag collapsed at the District II Basketball Tournament in Lewiston last February prompting a massive regional fundraising effort to put Automatic External Defibrilators (AED) in each of the schools in the region. Haag in stable condition
  • Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics along with St. Mary's Hospital and Clinics were recognized in May as having the 2005 Top Small Hospital Leadership Team in the Nation. CVHC & SMHC recognized as leaders
  • David Pruss spent several weeks causing havoc in the Weippe area shooting logging equipment, transformers and a small hydro power plant among other things before he was captured at the end of August.David Pruss arrested near Weippe

  • A Pasco, WA pilot was found by Back Country Medics after spending nearly two days in the North Central Idaho wilderness after his plane crashed. Pilot rescued after nearly two days in backcountry
  • Three young men from Clearwater County were honored in December for their heroism and placing themselves in danger to rescue others. Each received the Robert P. Connelly Medal awarded by Kiwanis International. Three receive Connelly Medals for heroism
