OHS Class of 1956 planning reunion

Orofino Class of 1956 will be celebrating their 50th Class Reunion from May 19-21, according to Shirley Mittendorf LeBlanc, chairperson.

Events include an informal gathering Friday night in the large conference room at Best Western's Lodge at River's Edge, a golf play-day on Saturday as well as tours of both the old and new high schools, and a gala dressy reception and catered dinner on Saturday night, again held in the large conference room of the hotel.

Hundreds of hours of preparation have been given by volunteers to assure that the event will exceed all expectations. Michael L. Bailardo, a well-known comedy stage hypnotist and magician from LaQuinta, CA will perform after dinner on Saturday night. Bailardo has more than 30 years experience entertaining in eight states in the western U.S. as well as on cruise ships. Friends who graduated in the 50's are invited to enjoy his performance, which begins at 8:15 p.m., for an admittance fee of $10 per person. Payment is to be made at the door beginning at 8 p.m. Early arrivals will not be admitted and, please, no children.

A Sunday brunch at the Orofino Golf & Country Club will finalize the week-end festivity. According to LeBlanc, "Between 90-100 classmates and spouses will be on hand to celebrate Orofino school memories that exceed fifty years...good, memorable years of being together in grade school, junior high and high school!"
